I just moved to South Korea and I went to my very first swing club in Seoul last night and I’m so excited about learning how to swing dance! Do you have any suggestions for finding instruction in English in the Seoul area? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    1. nallakim says:

I can teach in English 🙂 https://lindyexplorer.wordpress.com/2012/10/05/private-lesson/ let me know if you wanna take some 🙂

I am an American who moved to Korea just this year. I live in Jinhae. Are there any instructors in the area. I do not mind driving 1-2 hours away. Thank you!

There are some swing dance communities in Busan 🙂 you wanna take a lesson or social dancing?

Hi I’m an American living in Busan for a year. Can you give me some contacts for both lessons and social dancing? Thanks so so much!

Swing Factory (previously “The 1st”) is located in Seomyeon, Busan. They moved a year ago. This website shows their old location. Look at this map but go one block north, east and north again (past GS 25). They are on the 5th floor of a building opposite a pig giving a thumbs up. They have lessons starting every 6 weeks or so and social dancing every Saturday night from 8-11pm. Cost is $8 and you get a free drink.

Thanks so much Cory! Is are there many foreigners that go there?

      2. Cory says:

There are a few. I left Korea in August, but at the time there were 2 or 3 regular foreigners. I’ve found that there aren’t a ton of foreigners in Korea that are in the swing scene. Even in Seoul, I went dancing and only saw one or two foreigners at each place. Take your friends. They’ll like it. And be sure to talk to people. They are shy but know more English than you’d expect.

Hope you come dancing to Seoul someday soon~ 🙂

As someone who was learning Korean, and just found out about their lindy scene, I officially feel like I made a really really really great decision haha. I’m so excited, because now I’m officially going to visit someday! Some friends I can practice Korean and Lindy with would be awesome!
